FRANK R. NEWTON

1/16/1941 - 7/11/2009


Following a couple years of generally failing health, Frank Russell Newton, passed away on Saturday, July 11th, 2009 of cancer.

Frank was the son of Arcemus "Biggin'" and Ponnie Moody Newton.


LAURA COOK NEWTON

1/24/1953 - 10/27/2009

Laura Cook Newton was born 1/24/1953 to Leo Burl and Helen Frances Cogar Cook. Although Laura had suffered with throat cancer in the years immediately prior to her passing, she had fully recovered and was in good health. Following Frank's passing, Laura we had seen her and she was in reasonably good spirits and had begun planning her future without Frank. On the morning of October 27, 2009, she was found dead by her step-son, Chris Newton, seated in a chair in her bedroom. Her death is attributed to "natural causes".

They were dear folks, kind and loving and they are missed.

BRUCE MOODY

3/14/1940 - 2/21/2009


Bruce Moody passed away suddenly on February 21, 2009.


Bruce was the son or Roy Moody, my uncle.

Although meeting Bruce was something I had definate plans of doing, I am sorry to say that I never got the chance to do so. Bruce was a musician and you can learn more about him by visiting,

PAUL MOORE

1/11/1968 - 8/30/2009

(Paul was the son of my first cousin, Mary Catheryn Moore, daughter of Harlan and Virginia Harris Moody.)

Paul Moore, 41, of Black Mountain passed away Sunday, August 30, 2009.


Mr. Moore was born January 11, 1968 in Buncombe County where he had lived all of his life. He was a member of Mountain View Baptist Church. Paul loved to hunt and play golf and softball. He also played baseball with the Asheville Diamondbacks. Paul had a contagious smile and was a great friend to many. He was a loving husband, father, son and brother. He will be missed by all who knew him.


Paul is survived by his loving wife of 16 years, Donette Rhodes Moore; daughters, Haley and Katie Moore; son, Stuart Hicks; Godson, Garrett McMahan; parents, Dennis and Mary Catheryn Moody Moore of Old Fort; brothers, Kenneth Moore and Frankie Moore of Black Mountain, Danny Moore of Belhaven, NC and Mitchell Moore of Asheville.


A Celebration of Life service will be held Wednesday, September 2, 2009 at 6:00 p.m. at Mountain View Baptist Church with the Reverend Kevin Bennett officiating.


The family will receive friends following the service at the church.


In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to State Employees Credit Union for Haley and Katie Moore Trust Account, PO Box 160, Black Mountain, NC 28711.
